RECEIVING U.L. CERTIFICATION IS NOT EASY, WHICH IS WHY MOST MONITORING STATIONS DO NOT HAVE THE U.L. "SEAL OF APPROVAL".
IN FACT, OF APPROXIMATELY 2,400 CENTRAL MONITORING STATIONS IN NORTH AMERICA, ONLY 525, (LESS THAN 25%), ARE U.L.-CERTIFIED. Guardian Protection Services is proud to offer you a 24-hour central monitoring station that adheres to the rigorous standards of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (U.L), an independent, not-for-profit certification organization who tests products for public safety. Since its founding in 1894, U.L. has held the undisputed reputation as leader in U.S. product safety certification, and is one of the most recognized certifications around the globe. CSAA Five Diamond Certification
Guardian is also one of 68 central stations to earn Five Diamond 100% Operator Certification. This means we are committed to ongoing professional development and training for all central station operators, random U.L. inspections, excellent customer service and reducing false dispatches.Emergency power backup so that your signals always have the greatest chance of being received, no matter the weather or environmental conditions. In addition to the normal power supply, U.L. requires an Uninterruptible Power Supply plus one standby generator. Consistent with its dedication to the best possible service, Guardian has not one, but two standby power generators. The first operates on natural gas and the second operates on diesel fuel. Each standby power generator is capable of supplying all power necessary to process and dispatch alarm signals, provide lighting and maintain operation of all HVAC units for the central monitoring station. Each is tested according to U.L. standards: one hour a day, one day a week, every week of the year. The Uninterrupted Power Supply previously mentioned plays a limited but critical role in the power system. This perpetually trickle-charging bank of batteries provides complete power to Guardian's central monitoring station during the short transition period between the main source power-down and the standby source power-up. A fortress-like superstructure. Guardian built its central station according to U.L. requirements that include 6-inch poured concrete floors, interior and exterior walls with a two hour fire rating, an additional aluminum enclosure for the power room wall and complete sprinkler and automatic fire protection systems. An ultra-secure location from which we dispatch police, fire and medical help directly to you. Guardian's central station adheres to U.L. requirements of no windows for viewing from the exterior of the central station, iron bars on nearby windows, closed circuit surveillance cameras at the entrance, and fire-rated electronically locking doors with limited card access. Quad-redundant computer systems to ensure that your alarm signal is accurately received and that your alarm history is automatically updated and documented. While U.L.-certification requires that a central monitoring station have one backup computer system, Guardian has three, in addition to the one that operates under normal conditions. All alarm data is automatically "mirrored", meaning it is copied and transmitted to these backup computer systems, guaranteeing you that every detail surrounding every alarm incident is 100% current and retrievable. It's no wonder that Guardian Protection Services is the monitoring station of choice for homes and businesses from Maine to Alaska. In fact, Guardian has the capability to receive alarm signals for every format in the security industry. This telecommunication occurs through state-of-the-art, fiber optic 800-phone lines, all T-1 high-speed carriers. While U.L. does not require it, Guardian also has cellular backup systems in place, which give us the ability to continue to dispatch police, fire and medical emergency teams in the unlikely event our regular phone lines experience any problems. Guardian also has mercantile-certification from U.L., meaning we are qualified to receive alarm signals from U.L.-rated cellular communications equipment in high-security venues such as jewelry stores. Guardian is also U.L. certified to monitor fire systems, allowing us to protect the largest corporations from devastating fire and disaster. If you glanced through our files, you would find hundreds of events - all true stories showing the efficient response of our central monitoring station. Because of Guardian's U.L.- certified central station, homes have been saved and families have avoided devastating injury. Because of Guardian's U.L.- certified central station, chronically ill senior citizens as well as children involved in household accidents received emergency medical help quickly. Because of Guardian's U.L.- certified central station, criminals attempting to burglarize and vandalize were apprehended, leaving homes, families and businesses safe and untouched. While we hope that you never have to experience any of the above, Guardian's central monitoring station is at the ready. It is what everyone should expect from their 24-hour monitored security system: consistent, reliable service, measured against the most rigorous standards available. It is our contribution to making peace of mind in your life a reality. |
