For at least 12 years, Guardian has supplied heavy gauge aluminum Neighborhood Crime Watch and Business Crime Watch signs free of charge to police departments or crime watch groups located within Guardian's market area.  Requests are fulfilled in communities within proximity to Guardian's branch offices, allowing for delivery by a member of Guardian's staff.

Because the signs cost from $8 to $12 each, the recipient neighborhoods cannot always afford to buy them on their own without hurting their crime prevention budget. Citizens and police departments have told us that these signs make a significant contribution toward:

a) raising the level of crime prevention awareness,
b) sending a message to would-be vandals and
c) reassuring residents that everything possible is being done to keep their neighborhood safe.

To date, Guardian has given away nearly 4,000 signs, investing nearly $35,000 in improving the safety of neighborhoods.
